St. John's University uses Okta authentication to manage and secure access to our University Information System and other web applications. Okta Verify is a secure method of verifying your identity.
To update your Sign-On account with Okta Verify, please follow the steps below:

These steps are to add Okta Verify authentication to a Sign-On Portal account that is already set up with only a “Phone” authentication method, such as Voice or SMS.

Download and install the Okta Verify App from your mobile device’s app store.

After the installation is complete, open Okta Verify. Click on the “Add Account” button.

Choose Account Type: Select Organization.

Do you have your QR Code?
Click “No, Sign In Instead.”.

Enter your Organization’s sign-in URL: signon.stjohns.edu

You will be re-routed to the Sign-On portal for you to log in with your current email address and password.

You will be given the option of choosing from an existing verification method that you have previously set up. Select the Phone option if you have received an SMS to your phone when logging in to the Sign-On portal in the past.

Okta Verify setup process will begin. Once the account is registered with Okta Verify, the following settings will appear, depending on your device (Android or iOS):

Tap the back arrow to return to the screen. Then, click Done.
