Grammarly Authorship reports help instructors review how a student’s assignment was written, including text that was typed by the student, copied or pasted, or generated with AI. Reports may include a high-level breakdown, color-coded text, writing-process replay, and source details. For assignments using Grammarly Authorship, student submissions should include an attached or linked Authorship report. For our student-facing documentation, click here.

How to Access Grammarly Authorship Reports as a Link

Once the student sends the link:

  1. Open the link from the student.

  2. Review the report summary.

  3. Check the color-coded text to see how the submission was created.

  4. Review source details (yellow arrow below) or the writing replay (orange arrow below):

Grammarly’s Canvas integration allows reports to be connected directly to the Canvas assignment once students share them to Canvas.

How To Access Grammarly Authorship Reports in Canvas

  1. Log in to Canvas and open your course.

  2. Go to the assignment where students submitted their work.

  3. Open the assignment submissions.

  4. Select the tumbprint beneath Actions (yellow arrow below) to open the report:

In the submission summary, Authorship shows how much of the text it believes was typed, copied/pasted, or AI-generated. You can also review the source details or writing replay, as described in Step 4 of “How to Access Grammarly Authorship Reports as a Link.”
