1. Log into New UIS
This can be accessed in multiple ways:
Sign-On
This can be done by logging in to the Sign-On Portal:

.Connect App
Download the Connect U Mobile App, or by logging in to https://connect.stjohns.edu.
2. Once Logged in, locate the Widget labeled “New UIS Experience.”

3. In New UIS, locate the card labeled Faculty Courses and click on the Attendance Verification tab.

4. See a list of current courses, click the Take Roll button to take attendance.

5. The Attendance Verification form displays one week at a time. If you want to go back to the previous week, then click on the Calendar to change the dates.

6. Click in the circle to mark students Present. A green circle with a checkmark is Present.

Note: Online Asynchronous classes are still required to enter Present: hours and minutes (can be 1 hr. and 0 mins) FOR EACH STUDENT. It can be any date and any number of hours and minutes. The specifics don’t matter. You are confirming the student is engaged in the class. 7. Click in the circle twice to mark students Absent. A red circle with a white line will appear and this means the student is not attending.

At the end of the attendance verification period all students should have either a green check mark or a red/white mark.

Continue monitoring until all students who are verified are marked present. Automated emails will remind Instructors to begin the Attendance Verification process and monitor students who are not yet verified.
