Lockdown Browser Directions for Students (on a computer):

Part 1

Install Lockdown Browser (LDB); note if you have very recently taken an LDB exam, then you may likely skip step 1 as you currently have the most updated version on your device.

• Download the program:

  • Windows  -  https://download.respondus.com/lockdown/download.php?id=974346261

  • Mac  - https://download.respondus.com/lockdown/download.php?ostype=2&id=974346261

• During the installation, select “Yes” if prompted to accept and install programs from Respondus.

Part 1B (Alternate Download)*

• *Alternately, in the event the https address above does not work; navigate to your Canvas course; attempt to take your Quiz.

• Canvas will not allow access to the Quiz, however a prompt will appear for you to download LDB.

• Follow the prompts to download and approve installation of LDB.

Part 2

To take the exam:

• Close all programs, and browser windows.

• Open LDB; at this point, LDB is the only open application on your computer.

• From inside the LDB -- navigate to Canvas via selecting “Canvas Prod” account from the drop-down menu.

• The ‘signonstjohns’ (OKTA) screen will appear, log in using your credentials.

• Once successfully logged into Canvas navigate to the course; then proceed to take the exam.
