Overview
Proxy Access allows students to set up access for a proxy to view student information within the New UIS Experience and to permit the University’s Customer Contact Center to communicate with their proxy.
For example:
A parent or legal guardian as a proxy, who has access to view the Student’s Account Detail
A sibling as a proxy who has access to view the Student Profile and/or Student Grades
Once proxy setup has been initiated by the student, the proxy will receive email instructions on how to set up their account and view the information for which they have been granted access to. The student has the right to edit or delete the Proxy’s access at any time.
Account Setup
Once the student has created you as their proxy, you will receive three emails:
Email with the subject line: New Proxy Identity contains a one-time URL to set up your account with a permanent password.
Email with the subject line: New Proxy Confirmation contains a temporary password to use with the URL to set up your account with a permanent password. (Note: You can cut and paste this password to use with the initial link)
Email with the subject line: Updated Proxy Relationship contains the link you will use each time you access your account once you have set up your permanent password.

Proxy Passphrase
The Proxy passphrase is a word or a phrase the student creates for you to use when you communicate with the University.
You will need the passphrase if you contact the University’s Customer Contact Center to speak on the student’s behalf about any of the information for which you have been given authorization.
The student can provide you with the passphrase verbally or they can login and have the system email it to you.
If you have any questions regarding this process, please call our University’s Customer Contact Center at 718-990-2000
